Biography

President Brad Schlaikowski
(262) 424-8309
Brad and his wife Corinn have two children attending school here in Pewaukee. Xavier, 11, is at Horizon and Noah, 8, is at PLE. Our third son, Landon was born in December 2007. The opportunity to make a difference in his childrens' education and our schools motivates him the most. Seeing the connection that the families here have encourages Brad to work toward the common goal; enhancing the overall experience. He strongly believes that one person can make a difference but, if we work together, parents, principals, teachers and even our children can make our schools better than they are today. Brad has been active in the PTO by serving as chair for the PLE End of Year event in 2007 and 2008. He was also in charge of promotions for the Kathryn Beich Fall fundraiser.

Laurie has 3 children at Pewaukee - Eden (5th grade), Luke (3rd) and Grace (1st).  She and her husband, Nick, enjoy being a part of the Pewaukee community and appreciate the quality of the Pewaukee schools.  Laurie has been involved with the PTO for the past 5 years, chairing the PTO Education Partnership and co-chairing the Student Directory before that.  She is grateful that she has the ability to be involved at her childrens’ schools and contribute in whatever way she can to continuing to make the schools the wonderful places they are.  Laurie graduated from UW-Madison with a Business degree and worked as a project manager with Accenture for 11 years before taking on the position of full-time mom.

Heather Stein(262) 695-7718
heather@pewaukeepto.com

Heather has two boys at PLE - Colin will be moving on to Horizon from 3rd grade this year and Cal will be a graduate of the inaugural 4K class.  She and her husband Dave moved to Pewaukee in 1999 and have been so impressed with the Pewaukee Schools.  Up until now, most of Heather's volunteer efforts at school have been working in both of her boys' classrooms on a weekly basis.  Part of what makes PLE so special is the partnership she feels with the teachers and administration in her children's education.  With her youngest one heading off to kindergarden, she is ready to take on a bigger volunteer commitment with the PTO.  Before becoming a full-time mom, Heather earned a Business degree from UW-Madison.  She then spent 6 years at The Mark Travel Corpration in Marketing Development and a year at GMR Marketing consulting for major consumer brands.

Corresponding
Secretary
Ruth Arzbecker

(262) 691-3185
ruth@pewaukeepto.com

Ruth and her husband, Joe, have 3 daughters in the Pewaukee School District ~ Lauren at PHS, Lian at Asa Clark and Madeline at Horizon.  Lauren has been in the district since her freshman year of high school, and this has been Lian and Madeline’s first year in the district.  They have all had very positive experiences.  The Arzbecker family is grateful for this excellent school district and would really like to give back. Ruth believes she can do so by serving on the PTO Board.  She has a degree in Elementary Education and was a 1st grade teacher before their first daughter was born, so a piece of her heart has always been in education.  She believes that being a strong, effective teacher is one of the most challenging jobs that exist, and schools are most effective when the community of parents/teachers/students/adminstration work together. Therefore, the existence of a strong, vibrant PTO, whose goal is to create unity between the home and school, is essential in an excellent school district such as Pewaukee.

Carrie Wille

(262) 970-6735
carrie@pewaukeepto.com

The Pewaukee school community has made a fabulously positive impact on the Wille family.  Carrie and Scott have 3 girls; Annika is in 5th grade at Horizon, Ava is in 3rd grade at PLE, and their youngest, Elena, is attending 4K.  The Wille family is very grateful for the experiences Pewaukee schools provide their daughters, and as such, Carrie wanted to become more involved in supporting our schools through the PTO.  She worked for 14 years in the health insurance industry prior to taking time off to quit competing with the babysitter for her children’s affection, to bus them around to their activities, and to prepare healthy meals they don’t want to eat.  Truly though, she is glad to have this time to take a more active role in the PTO’s strong tradition of enhancing the educational experiences of our children.

Website Coordinator

Irene Leong

(262) 695-2573
irene@pewaukeepto.com

Irene and her husband, Vi-Hoa, have two girls in PLE - Karamea and Tiara.  She graduated with an Associate Diploma in Business Computing in Australia and has taken many roles including, Secretary, Administrative Assistant and Paralegal.  Irene has been volunteering for the PLE in classrooms, field trips, special projects and the library.  She is eager to contribute to the Pewaukee School District and wanted to play a more active role with the PTO.  Her other interests include photography, traveling, nature walks, swimming and sports.  Her beliefs are as follows: "What better way to get to know the operations of the schools than to volunteer!  Life is all about learning!  This world can really make a difference if we all pitch in - energized by our love and devotion to one another, our schools, our community and...our children!"
