The Pewaukee PTO still has a few positions to fill next year. We hold a Chairperson training mid summer to help all new and existing Chairs with questions. PLE teachers were treated to “dinner at the beach” on Monday, November 16th during Teacher Conferences. Since PLE’s theme is Dive Into Learning, the dinner theme was "Under the Sea". Dinner for the teachers included seafood appetizers, sandwiches, soups, LOTS of desserts and—of course!—beach music playing in the background! Thanks to Kathleen McNight for chairing this event and all our volunteers who help show the teachers how much we appreciate them!

Last night at our Open PTO Meeting we had a unanimous vote to confirm our newest Board Members.
Effective June 2010:
Carrie Wille will assume the role of Recording Secretary
Joann Bell will assume the role of VP for PLE
Laurie Lochner will move to VP of Horizon
We would also like to thank Cheri Schaefer and Jackie Sklenar for their dedication and service over the past two years. We couldn't have done everytng we did without them. |

Hello and welcome to Pewaukee Schools!
As a parent of a child entering Pewaukee, I am sure you and your child are excited to become involved with the Pewaukee PTO Family. Our PTO has been supporting the General Mills Box Tops program for years. The Box Tops program allows the Pewaukee community to raise funds for school activities, events, supplies and more. I am proud to say that our kids have outdone themselves each year! In 2009-2010, Pewaukee students made over $6000 just from turning in Box Tops! Compared to 08/09 School Year total of $3693.70 and 07/08 School Year total of $2463.50. We increased collections almost 40% over last year !!
Attached to this letter is a Box Tops Collection Sheet being distributed only to our incoming Kindergarten students. All you have to do is to adhere 10 Box Tops coupons to each Collection Sheet (an example of what one looks like is pictured inside each square). Make sure to enter your child’s name and the name of the teacher your child has been assigned to. Once school starts, have your child turn in the COMPLETED sheet to their teacher. All kindergartners submitting this collection sheet will be entered into a contest which will run until October 1, 2010. A special prize will be awarded to the Kindergarten classroom that turns in the most box tops and one student will win a PLE T-shirt!

Winning Classroom Ms. Angel’s 5th grade class with a total of 1534 Box tops!! See them above enjoying their Classroom Ice Cream Party
The Box tops contest was a huge success. We were able to bring in a total of 19,318 box tops which relates to $1932 dollars for our PTO. In 2009 we have taken in $4725.60 compared to $3465.50 in 2008. This is a 36.4% increase. This is the largest amount we have ever earned. Great Job everyone who participated!! The top selling grade goes to the Fabulous Fifth graders with a total of 4183 box tops. The Fantastic First graders came in a close second with 3836. We ask you to continue to collect for our winter snowflake contest. Please see the back of this sheet. We are asking that you cut your box tops and tape on back of this sheet. Turn in by Feb 14th for a spectacular surprise! Individual and classroom awards will be given. Let’s have 100% participation! This is the easiest fundraiser. No out of pocket costs, just a little effort to cut and paste on sheet….. every household in Pewaukee uses some of the Box tops products from: General Mills, Betty Crocker®, Pillsbury®, Kleenex® and Ziploc®. 153 desserts were sold, $267.75 extra was raised for our PTO through Market Day all because of these dessert sales! Great job! Over $800 was raised for our PTO this month alone! |
The Festival of Learning is now the "PTO Education Partnership". We conducted a contest to create a new name for this program, to promote better understanding of its purpose. See this page for all of the details. |

Sage Hospitality has a special promotion for those who volunteer. It's that simple! If you volunteer eight hours of your time to any 501 c3 non-profit organization you can get a free night stay at any of their hotels. (There are some rules such as 48 hour notice required and subject to availability)
The Pewaukee PTO has a certification letter that will be required at check in. If you have volunteered and are interested in this offer please contact any board member and we will happliy provide for you. |

For the second year in a row, the Pewaukee PTO is the recipient of a $1000 grant from Walmart, to help fund our unique Festival of Learning, now called the PTO Educational Partnership. Thanks goes to Katy Moroder for her outstanding efforts in working with Walmart to make this happen. Katy will represent the PTO at a check presentation ceremony on Friday, December 19th. Thank you Walmart, and way to go Katy! |
This PTO website has been completely redesigned in order to promote future maintainability. Using many of the free Google tools available, the new site is wiki based, thus allowing anyone to update its content, regardless of their technical background. In addition, the following features are now available:

PTO Today has announced that the Pewaukee PTO has been selected as the national runner-up for Parent Group of the Year, out of hundreds of applicants from across the country. We were chosen for our significant improvements in volunteerism, organization, communication, and programs, and fundraising. The PTO was awarded a $1000 grant in reward of this recognition.
